Straight Teeth for a New You in the New Year

Straight teeth can happen in as little as six months with clear braces. Thanks to Invisalign®, you don’t have to wait two years for a smile that rocks the world. However, not all invisible braces work the same as Invisalign®

is the leader in straight teeth and although it may not be right for you, could work wonders for your crooked grin.

What is Invisalign® and Why Does It Work?

Invisalign® is clear braces system that gently pushes your teeth into place. Unlike conventional wires and brackets, which require pulling and pushing, which can be quite painful, Invisalign® uses a series of removable aligners that cause less pain and stress.

The Glen Dental Center in Glenview Ill is a preferred Invisalign® provider and will be able to determine if you are a good fit for the clear braces system. If you are, digital pictures will be taken to give Dr. Jeffrey Gilmor a clear picture of what needs to be done to straighten your teeth. Once the adjustments have been made those images will be sent to the Invisalign® lab where your new clear plastic aligners will be manufactured.

The Invisalign® Process

When your new clear plastic Invisalign® aligners are ready, Dr. Gilmor will give you between 11 and 31 aligners. Depending on your clear braces plan, you will need to replace your old set with a new set every seven to 14 days. With Invisalign®, you will only need to see your dentist in Glenview every six weeks. Conventional braces need adjustments every two weeks.

You will need to remove your aligners when you brush and floss and when you sit down to a meal. This makes it easier to take care of your teeth. People who wear old school braces know how difficult it is to brush under the wires and brackets.
