Invisalign

If you have always wanted to straighten your teeth or are the parent of a teenager who would like a nice smile, but would rather not commit to uncomfortable wires and brackets, schedule an appointment for Invisalign with Dr. Jeffrey Gilmor or Dr. Verena Phillips. As certified Invisalign providers, Dr. Gilmor or Dr. Phillips can provide you with the revolutionary orthodontic system that can straighten your teeth in as little as a year. In fact, some patients will only have to wear Invisalign for 6 months. Conventional braces need to be worn anywhere from two to three years. Invisalign is worn 20 to 22 hours each day and is removed while brushing and flossing. Because Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligners, which could be anywhere between 11 or 30 depending on the patient, the risk of tooth decay and gum disease is lowered. People who wear standard metal braces are more susceptible to gingivitis and cavities because it is impossible to brush under the wires and brackets. Because there are no sharp edges with Invisalign, you don’t have to worry about injuring the inside of your mouth. Eating is also more comfortable as the aligners are removed when you eat meaning you can continue to enjoy you favorite foods that are off limits with conventional metal brackets and wires.

If Dr. Gilmor or Dr. Phillips has determined that you are a good candidate for Invisalign a series of pictures and x-rays will be taken to evaluate your bite, the shape of your roots and the general health of your teeth. After the evaluation is complete, a mold will be made for your clear plastic aligners.

You will wear a new set of aligners every two weeks with dental appointments scheduled every six weeks to evaluate your Invisalign progress.

Nearly everyone can use this effective teeth-straightening method. Invisalign has the highest patient satisfaction rating with nine out of ten users highly recommending it to others.

This sophisticated system is safe and works well for most patients. However, there are certain cases where it may not be the best treatment option.
